Making Distinctions and Differences We are frequently asked, “...just what distinguishes your firm from your competitors?” In addition to being justifiably proud of results we have achieved with our clients over the past 38 years, I suggest the following distinctions and differences from other consulting firms in our field. Focusing on Strengths: We remain focused on serving clients within the limits of our assured capabilities. Over the years we have rejected a number of opportunities to expand our firm's focus. Tempted but not convinced we remain dedicated to serving clients within our geographical reach and tested professional abilities. Clarity and Transparency: Whether in initial meetings with potential clients, or in proposals for professional services, or in written reports our firm's intended objectives, applied methodologies, candid findings, and resulting recommendations are made clear. Clarity and transparency we consider essential for clients to assess and consider. High Touch versus High Tech: We continue to adhere to the principal that thoughtful personal attention and contact with our clients is far more effective than fleeting trends in high tech and novel approaches to fundraising. Associate's Credentials: We are neither a training ground nor afterthought for development officers. Our Associates are skilled, experienced and dedicated to the art and application of professional consulting. Client References: The most telling distinction our firm can offer is through the references of clients we have served. They are among the best judges of our claims of distinction. Professional Fees: Our firm's Associates serve clients who pay fees, and not on the basis of generating fees from clients served. This is not a subtle distinction.
